Thriving, the boy whose life-support was switched off

As he showed no vital signs after a week-long battle with meningitis, little James Smart had lost his fight for life and doctors said it was time to switch off his life-support machine. However, their heartbreak turned to joy when James astonishingly started to breathe unaided.
